Four Tet
Beautiful Rewind (2013)
(Text)

!! CAUTION !! - Never understood the criticism that Four Tet is too repetitive, but admittedly here he's clearly having more fun than anyone who actually listens to this thing, but sure, definitely no "last minute rick rubin," if that's a facet of the modern poplife that deeply troubles you (!?).

***

Dirty Beaches
Drifters / Love Is the Devil (2013)
(Zoo Music)

!!!!! AVOID !!!!! - Mumbly grunty garbage, distinguishable from the Black Keys only because it's dirgy instead of dingy -- the kind of stuff appealing to the sensibility of complains about lead singers having distinctive personalities, I guess.

Darkside
Psychic (2013)
(Matador)

Want to support Jaar but can't see much to love in this Cinemax porn soundtrack music.

Queens of the Stone Age
...Like Clockwork (2013)
(Matador)

!! CAUTION !! - Just so we're clear, I don't think it's sacrilege for a band to try and blow itself up to memories of Led Zep or the Doors, I just think it's a waste of time cause those bands bloooowwwww dude
